Entrepreneur Programs –

Fortune has an interesting article comparing entrepreneurship programs at Harvard and Stanford business schools.  Stanford has had one of the most comprehensive entrepreneurship programs for many years.  The short distance from Sand Hill Road and Silicon Valley VC’s are only one of the reasons for the programs strength.  Stanford courses are taught by a faculty member and a practitioner in the field.

M.B.A. Applications Decline –

According to the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), applications to M.B.A. programs have fallen 2% this year.  This is the first decline in applications in several years and fewer foreign applicants are one of the reasons.  Competition from international programs and a greater difficulty with visas and student loans were cited as reasons.  One positive note for future applicants is that some programs saw a decrease in applications but still admitted a higher percentage of students.

E-book Tips –

The Wall Street Journal had a great article by Brett Arends on whether or not E-books are worth the money.  The article cites the costs of E-books in relation to the print version and the ability to view classics that are in the public domain.  One strong point made by the article was to delay purchasing an E-book until prices fall.  Increased competition and a drive for market share should bring down prices in the near future.
