Global Outlook Survey Predicts More Hiring -

A recent FINS Finance article discussed the Global Outlook Survey conducted by CFO Magazine.  The Duke/CFO Magazine survey reached 1,050 CFOs from a wide range of companies.  The survey expects a 1.5% increase in U.S. employment in 2012.

New GMAT -

The GMAT has a new integrated reasoning section that will first appear on the June GMAT.  The integrated reasoning section will join the verbal, quantitative, and analytical writing sections of the exam.  Registration for the new GMAT will begin this month.

MBA Programs Attract Recent Grads -

A recent Wall Street Journal article discussed the rising number of recent college grads applying to MBA programs.  Generally, top ranked MBA programs require a few years of work experience from applicants.  However, there are schools that will accept students in their final year of undergraduate study and defer admission for two years.  Also, the number of candidates taking the Graduate Management Admission Test that were under age 24 increased 24% per year from 2004 to 2009.

College Payback Rankings -

Smart Money has an article on the top 50 schools ranked by payback period.  The schools are ranked according to their costs of attendence and the salaries of their graduates.  The top five schools in the payback rankings are the Georgia Institute of Technology, the University of Texas at Austin, University of Florida, University of Georgia, and the University of Illinois.  There is also an interactive table associated with the article.

University Of North Carolina MBA Program -

The University of North Carolina is the first top 20 MBA program to offer an online MBA program.  The Kenan-Flagler Business School will have an entering class of 19 students for their online program.  The Anderson School of Management at UCLA offers some online courses but they do not have a complete program.
