MyMoney.Gov Resources –

MyMoney.gov is a site created by 22 Federal entities that provides financial literacy information and materials.  A few of the participating entities are the Federal Trade Commission, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, the Department of the Treasury, and the Office of the Comptroller of Currency.  MyMoney.gov also provides resources for teachers, parents, researchers, and financial education providers.

US News: Top Business Schools 2012 –

The Stanford University Graduate School of Business was ranked number one in the US News 2012 MBA rankings.  Harvard University fell to second place and MIT and Wharton were tied for third.  Northwestern and the University of Chicago tied for fifth place.  US News also provides specialty rankings for entrepreneurship, accounting, finance, and marketing.  In addition, the US News Business School Compass has information on starting salaries, acceptance rates, and average GMAT scores.

College Payback Rankings –

Smart Money has an article on the top 50 schools ranked by payback period.  The schools are ranked according to their costs of attendence and the salaries of their graduates.  The top five schools in the payback rankings are the Georgia Institute of Technology, the University of Texas at Austin, University of Florida, University of Georgia, and the University of Illinois.  There is also an interactive table associated with the article.

PBS Kids –

PBS Kids has an area to teach children about money.  The site provides information on making money, spending money, and managing money.  PBS Kids also offers a game called Mad Money.  Mad Money teaches children the value of a dollar by  giving them a weekly allowance and a shopping list.

Top Cities For Young Professionals –

Forbes has an article that ranks the top cities for young professionals.  The rankings were based on seven factors that included cost of living, median salaries, unemployment, and annual job growth.  The article considers young professionals to be in the 24 to 34 year old age bracket.   Des Moines Iowa took the top of the list and Raleigh North Carolina finished second.  Washington DC finished in ninth place and Boston came in number twelve.

A recent CNBC article discusses the top salaries for college graduates and mid-career professionals.  The article ranks the top 15 schools and lists their median starting salaries and median mid-career salaries.  The top four schools are Harvard, Harvey Mudd, CalTech, and Princeton.

Financial Times Global MBA Rankings 2011 –

The Financial Times Global MBA rankings for 2011 covers business school programs from around the world.  The rankings provide data on careers, placement rates, and salaries.  The Financial Times MBA rankings have London Business School and Wharton tied for number one.  The rest of the top five are Harvard Business School, Insead, and Stanford.  Stanford has the highest weighted salary of all MBA programs at slightly over $180,000.
