CLEP Exams -

College Level Examination Placement Exams are developed by the College Board and are accepted at 2,900 institutions. The College Board are also the developers of the SAT and Advanced Placement exams. There are 33 CLEP exams available in 5 subject areas. The exams are generally 90 minutes and cost $77 dollars. The College Board site offers study aids and descriptions of each CLEP exam. In addition, the College Board site provides a search tool to locate test centers by city, state, or zip code.

Georgetown Center On Education Study -

A recent study from the Georgetown Center on Education and the Workforce compared college majors with employment rates and salaries. The study indicates that a students major is a strong factor in determining employment and lifetime career earnings. Majors that are in high demand are engineering, healthcare, education, and the sciences. Earnings for quantitative majors such as engineering were significantly higher than earnings in the education field. Architecture is one major that has been hurt by the economic downturn. Architecture majors have a 13.9% unemployment rate.

Global Outlook Survey Predicts More Hiring -

New GMAT -

The GMAT has a new integrated reasoning section that will first appear on the June GMAT. The integrated reasoning section will join the verbal, quantitative, and analytical writing sections of the exam. Registration for the new GMAT will begin this month.
